Finally, mix in beautiful models, expensive lighting equipment, expert business advice, guest speakers and you have a workshop like no other. Breathe Inspiration Throughout your three day experience you can also expect to be inspired by the surroundings and inundated with knowledge from 25 years of combined photography experience. Joe Photo and John Mireles will combine hands-on instruction in lighting and shooting techniques with seminars on business methods that you can adopt now to make your photography business more profitable. No Pack Mentality Here Unlike many other workshops where the participants shoot as a pack over the instructor’s shoulder, you will work with a small group to set up and create shots that reflect your style and creative sensibilities. You’ll be in control of the process - and your confidence and knowledge will show it! Participants will be instructed and coached in the following three areas: 1. New Technical Skills
Using models for subjects, you will receive hands-on education about mixing ambient lighting with strobe powered off-camera lighting. Simple, easy-to-use techniques will be taught alongside more complicated set ups. You’ll learn how the top fashion and portrait photographers create the looks they do and learn how to incorporate those techniques into the fast-paced wedding day environment. We’ll help take your work to new levels that can’t just be copied by anyone with a DSLR! 2. New Ways of Seeing 
Technical skills and fancy equipment can’t do much without the creative guidance of the photographer. We will discuss and provide coaching on how to push your vision beyond your usual photographic comfort zone. Through critiques, discussions, and hands-on photo shoots you’ll pursue the emotional side of creating distinctive images.  3. Business Methods and Models
 We’ll help to translate your new technical skills and creative vision into value that clients will pay for. We’ll introduce you to successful strategies for marketing and selling to clients. The best part of this workshop is that not only will you develop new photographic skills, you’ll also receive the tools to charge more for them! About the Instructors
This workshop will be team taught by John Mireles & Joe Photo. 
 Joe Photo has created a successful brand as an A-list photographer in the very competitive Southern California market. In 2005, Joe’s cover and editorial feature in Grace Ormonde Wedding Style set a new standard for fashion wedding portraiture. Joe’s wedding images have been featured in numerous publications such as Grace Ormonde’s Wedding Style, Elegant Bride, Wedding Dresses, Southern California Modern Bride, Sposa, San Diego Bride & Groom, Studio Photography & Design, Los Angeles Magazine, and Rangefinder. His weddings have been seen on NBC’s Life Moments and the Lifetime channel’s Weddings of a Lifetime and My Best Friend’s Wedding. $1,600 includes lunch, lighting equipment and model fees Who Should Attend 
This workshop is intended for working wedding photographers of all levels. Intermediate knowledge of camera equipment and wedding photography is highly recommended. No previous experience with lighting equipment is necessary. Location The seminar will take place at Rimrock Ranch in the Mojave desert which is about 30 minutes from Palm Springs and two hours from Los Angeles.
