This is your chance to get an insider’s view of how Ventana Photography, one of the nation’s premier boutique studios, works. This is much more than a the studio tour - this is a business seminar that means business. You’ll get to hear about what works, what doesn’t and how to overcome common challenges directly from John and his expert staff.
Marketing Strategy First, we’ll talk about successful marketing strategies. You’ll learn about what marketing tools are the best return for the money - be it magazine advertising, the blog, public relations or good old fashioned word of mouth marketing. We’ll talk about the value and process for earning the referrals of coordinators and making it onto the referral lists of the venues that you want to work at.
Closing the Sale Once you have the client in the door, the next step is making the sale. We’ll go into detail about how to effectively guide a client through the sales consultation and how to gently lead a client towards closing the sale. You’ll learn how to address common client concerns - especially how to respond to client requests for discounts.
Insight from Specialists Finally, we’ll address a wide range of issues, from hiring employees and associates to digital workflow to increasing post-shoot sales. Through open, roundtable discussions, you’ll receive the experienced insight of not only instructor John Mireles, but his production manager Jessie Odaffer, sales/marketing manager Lauren Ackerman and John’s business partner, photographer Jennifer Dery.
Whether you’re starting out and looking for direction or experienced and looking for business inspiration, your head will be ready to explode from the knowledge gained.
Attendance is Limited to 12 individuals. Only one participant will be accepted from the San Diego area.
Workshop Fee $550 (If booked with the Complete Wedding workshop on July 16, save $200 for both.)
About Your Instructors John Mireles brings 18 years of experience working with all levels of clients - from those struggling to afford the minimum to the world’s wealthiest.   Production manager Jessie Odaffer handles album and print production for the Ventana Studio.   Lauren Ackerman works with Ventana clients on customer service and sales issues. She’s holds a business degree from Indiana University and is responsible for marketing for Jennifer Dery Photography and Ventana Photography.
