What sets this workshop apart is its focus on guiding you through each part of the wedding day - from getting ready, to the ceremony, to the formals and on to the reception. You’ll learn all kinds of techniques to quickly create magazine quality images that will please even the pickiest high-end client. This is a hands-on workshop with models serving as our bride and groom.
Technical Mastery  In addition to covering each part of the wedding day, you’ll learn about the technical aspects of covering the wedding day: which lenses to use for any given shoot, how to accurately meter for different lighting scenarios - from bright sunny days to small backlit rooms, how and when to use your flash, video lighting, and how to optimally set up your camera.

Nail the Emotion
At each stage of the wedding day, you’ll be guided through through the process for nailing the great moments. You’ll learn how to capture the emotion of getting ready shots, how to position subjects for formals, how to work those critical seconds as the bride walks down the aisle, how to shoot during the wedding, how to quickly handle the family photos, posing techniques for the bride and groom and how to capture the grand entrance into the reception, first dance and finally, cake cutting.

Get Published  You’ll also learn how to capture the details that are so important to getting published in bridal magazines. We’ll show exactly how to get the images that magazines, venues and coordinators look for to promote their - and your - work.

About Your Instructor  John Mireles is well experienced with the full range of weddings. Not only is he on the vendor list for the most exclusive venues in San Diego, such as Rancho Valencia, The Hotel Del Coronado and The Grand Del Mar, but he’s shot hundreds of high-end weddings from Japan to Hawaii to Jamaica. His work has been featured in bridal magazines ranging from Inside Weddings to Exquisite Weddings to Brides Magazine.

Seminar Fee  $550 includes lunch, models and location fees. (If booked with the Inside the High-End workshop on July 15, save $200 for both.)

Who Should Attend  This seminar is intended for wedding photographers of all levels who seek to improve their wedding day photography skills. Basic knowledge of camera equipment and wedding photography is highly recommended.

This is a hands-on seminar and participants are encouraged to bring their cameras. The focus will be on instruction although there will be opportunities for participants to create their own images.
